Biography

Axel André has served as Chief Financial Officer of TPG Inc. since 2026. Mr. André joined TPG from Reinsurance Group of America (RGA), where he led capital management and financial reporting functions. Prior to RGA, he was Chief Financial Officer of American Equity Life and Jackson National. Mr. André earlier served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer of the Individual and Group Retirement Services division of AIG. His career began at Goldman Sachs, where he ultimately served as Managing Director of Global Insurance Strategies for the Investment Management Division.

He earned a master’s in physics from the Imperial College at the University of London and a master’s and PhD in physics from Harvard University.
